Alexis Pertuz, age 63, died December 24, 2005. A memorial service will be held at Kellett Chapel, Peachtree Presbyterian Church, 3434 Roswell Road, Atlanta, GA 30305 on Saturday, January 28th, 2006, at 3:00 p.m. The family will receive friends following the service.
A son of Saul and Olga Pertuz, Alexis was born and raised in Barranquilla, Colombia. He graduated from Gimnasio Moderno in Bogota, Colombia and attended Universidad de Los Andes, also in Bogota, before transferring to Yale University, from which he graduated in 1964. He received his MBA and a Master of Science degree in electrical engineering from Stanford University in 1968.
During his career in consulting and a variety of technology businesses, he lived in New York, Mexico City, San Francisco, Amsterdam, Caracas, and London. He settled in Atlanta in 1982.
He was formerly married to Martha Griffin Pertuz. He was preceded in death by his parents and by his brother Saul. He is survived by his son, David Pertuz of Grosse Pointe Park, MI; his daughter, Amy Pertuz Farnham and son-in-law, Richard Farnham of Nederland, CO; and his brother Fernando of Barranquilla, Colombia.
