Anson Frederick Smolowe

Anson Smolowe was born in New York, where his father was head of the perfumer Jean Patou. He attended Poly Prep in Brooklyn.  At Yale he was a chemistry honors major, a member of Alpha Chi Sigma, and an editor at both the Yale Daily News and the Yale News and Review.

After Yale he went to New York University, where he was a candidate for medical and Ph.D degrees at the time in 1968 when he married Constance Hoffman of Fairfield, CT.

In 1976 his parents established The Anson Frederick Smolowe Memorial Student Loan Fund at the Yale School of Medicine, in his memory.
