Kicking off the Reunion Book project
October 11, 2023
Classmates:
Our 60th Reunion is coming up on May 23-26, 2024. Please mark your calendars now. Detailed information about the Reunion schedule and events will be coming shortly.
As one of the Reunion-related activities, we will create a 60th Reunion Book similar to the marvelous book that Larry Crutcher and his team edited for our 50th Reunion. I will be serving as editor-in-chief this time around and I need some important help that only you can provide.
Using the process described below, I need you to update your contact information and other basic biographical information. That's the easy part. The important "ask" that will make this book come alive is for you to submit a short personal essay (500 words or less) on a subject important to you. At this point in our lives, everyone has a story worth telling. You may have climbed Everest twice or cared for an ill spouse or child for years. Maybe your passion in later life has been walks with your dog. But please don't go on about politics — left or right. We've all heard enough about that.
You can start the process now to submit your information and essay by following the steps described below. As part of the process, you'll use the following personal ID code which is unique to you:
Your name: *|FNAME|* *|MNAME|* *|LNAME|*
Your personal ID code: *|ID|*
- Go to the Reunion Book portal here.
- Click the "Login" button and follow the instructions, using your personal ID code (*|ID|*) when requested.
- On the "Photo" page, upload a relatively recent close-up photo of yourself. It can be a group shot if you're clearly pictured.
- On the "Essay" page, add an essay of 500 words or less.
- If you can't complete the process in one session, you can always go back later and pick up where you left off.
Our goal is to have all classmate essays and biographical information submitted to the portal by Thanksgiving so we can keep to our tight publication and distribution schedule. With your help, we plan to have the finished book in your hands well before the Reunion.
If you have questions, please reply to this email and I'll answer quickly. Let's make this a fun project for a bunch of 80-somethings!
Best wishes,
