Neil Hoffmann '64 joins Class Council, replacing Gus Speth

Neil Hoffmann has joined the 1964 Class Council replacing Gus Speth who has resigned.  Neil will finish Gus’ remaining term though May 2019 and will then be slated for a full term ending in May 2024, subject to ratification of the Class at our 55th Class Reunion.

In making the announcement, Class Secretary Tony Lavely said, “Neil has been active in Class activities for many years, notably in organizing our Spring and Fall golf outings.  We welcome his involvement in other Class projects and activities.”

Our annual Council meetings are usually held in February in New Haven.  In accepting this new role, Neil said: “It has been a pleasure and privilege to help out with the golf outings and I look forward to the Council meetings.”

Gus served the Class and Council for many years, especially during his deanship at Yale School of Forestry and Environmental Sciences.  In stepping down, Gus said: “I had a ball being on the Class Council and hosting the meetings when I was dean. I thoroughly enjoyed reconnecting with so many great people.”
