in later life

Outside the operating room, he frequently enjoyed adventures with his wife and two sons. He was an accomplished tennis player, enjoyed golf and fishing, and had an insatiable thirst for Civil War history and artifacts.

Affectionately referred to as "the doctor with a golden heart," he will be remembered as someone who would help anyone in need.

Preceded in death by his parents, Victor Sr. and Anne Lewis (nee Ward), and his sister Dianne Lewis Hall. Survived by his loving wife Jayne (nee Martin), children Victor III "Torrey" (Carrie), Michael (Elizabeth), his brother Edwin (Gloria), niece Catherine Anne, and nephew Edwin Jr.

A private celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the B. Herold Griffith, MD, Scholarship Fund or your favorite charity.
