Statement from Dieter Brand, Dick's roommate

A native of Pittsburgh, PA, Dick received his undergraduate degree (1964) and law degree (1967) from Yale University.  Dick taught Spanish at St. Mark's School in the late 1960s and early 1970s.  After leaving St. Mark's, he moved to Deerfield Beach, FL, where he established and maintained a successful translation service that put his extraordinary fluency and linguistic skill in a number of languages to productive and practical use.  He died in a Boca Raton hospice on January 7, 2013.
