This talk results from my interest in new technology to mitigate rising levels of carbon dioxide in the global atmosphere. If controlled nuclear fusion power can be successfully developed, it could provide major environmental and economic advantages. This talk describes a recent technology breakthrough and efforts underway to develop commercial fusion power. The US should reconsider the assumption that nuclear fusion energy is impossible or will take too long.
