Mo Dean ’64 wins award for his serialized blog “Goines On”

Mo Dean, one of our most active classmate bloggers in “Moristotle & Co.,” won an award for his serialized blog “Goines On.” The State Library of North Carolina awarded him First Place in their Accessible Books & Library Services Writing Contest.

Mo writes:

“Goines On” is a portrait in fictional vignettes, a third-person sketch of an inner life, a painting rendered in brushstrokes here and there from time to time, as the painter is moved to daub. The award goes to a string of eight fictional vignettes from Spring 2021 that I’m especially proud of because they investigate some dark disparities of life and come to a light resolution.
