Chris Getman '64 calls our attention to the Yale Bowl's ranking
Chris Getman (who has not missed a game in the Bowl since 1970) called our attention to a July ranking by Popular Mechanics of the top 25 college football stadiums.
The Yale Bowl is #5.
With nearly 71,000 seats when it opened more than a century ago, the Yale Bowl was the first bowl shape in football and inspired many of the country’s most famous stadiums. The design of the façade matched the Neo-Gothic tradition on campus. Deemed a National Historic Landmark, the Yale Bowl gave the world a new way to watch football.
