Dr. Martin Luther King’s message to our Class, June 15, 1964
Our Class Secretary, Tony Lavely, reflects that on the occasion of Dr. Martin Luther King Day, January 15, 2018, it's appropriate to recall that almost 54 years ago, Dr. King preached a sermon in Battell Chapel to our graduating class. As we lose classmates to time, it makes his quote of John Donne’s poem even more poignant than it was on that day.
Any man’s death diminishes me,
Because I am involved in mankind.
And therefore never send to know
For whom the bell tolls,
It tolls for thee.
