Tony Lavely ’64 represents 1964 in YAA diversity workshop
October 20, 2020
Tony Lavely was a panelist on a Zoom webinar on October 20 that focused on how to foster Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion among Yale alumni groups. Also on the panel were Weili Cheng, director of the Yale Alumni Association, Yvette Rivers, president of the Yale Club of Washington D.C., and Sheryl Carter Negash, co-chair of the AYA Alumni Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Task Force. Sheryl currently serves as co-chair for the 50th anniversary celebration of the Afro-American Cultural Center and is a Yale Medalist.
Tony commented:
It was a dynamic discussion and a pleasure to get to know the other panelists and hear their ideas. I was pleased to see that a number of 1964 classmates attended the live event: Tony Lee, Bob Buchanan, Paul Ruden, and Mike Price. Pete Putzel added: “I’ve been doing a fair amount of DEI work on behalf of the Berkshire Taconic Community Foundation (where I’m a board member).”
Below is a Zoom recording of the webinar, followed by the five slides Tony used to represent our class initiatives.
