July 13, 2023
Another Class Book Club Zoom event organized and hosted by Edward Massey ’64 took place on July 13, 2023. Fifty classmates and guests enjoyed the discussion by Jethro Lieberman ’64 featuring his new noval Everything is Jake.
The discussion was moderated by Larry Crutcher ’64.
After Harvard Law School and In addition to his day jobs in law practice, journalism, and teaching at New York Law School, Jethro has had a separate writing career. He published his first book in 1966 while a third-year law student. Since then, some thirty of his books have been published by many of the major New York trade publishers on topics ranging from constitutional law to CB radio. In 2018, taking a breather from research for a project tentatively titled “Taking Offense,” about the national obsession we have all been experiencing, he sat down to write a detective novel, never imagining it would take fifteen revisions spread over forty months and a whole new way of thinking. Titled Everything Is Jake, it’s about a strange plea deal in a Manhattan federal court, a missing FBI agent, and an encounter with someone described as “the oddest of the 40-odd presidents of the United States.”
