Guild Copeland, of Sarasota, FL, died on March 9, 2016.

He was survived by his wife, Anne, his two sons Guild of Los Angeles, CA and Lee of San Francisco, CA, and his daughter Blake of Miami, FL, and two grandchildren.

A memorial service was held privately.

Guild had graduated from St. Mark's School with Yale classmates Edward Miller and Arthur Newbold, to whom he sent the following communication before their 55th St. Mark's reunion in 2015:

"I will not be able to make it to the reunion this year. Three years ago I was diagnosed with what is now know as the “Tom Brokaw Cancer” — multiple myeloma. Though it’s not curable, it is manageable. I am currently in remission  and very hopeful that I’ll be around for our 65th. Regrettably, my ongoing chemotherapy creates some side effects and vulnerabilities that require I ration my traveling. So on the evening of June 11th,  I will raise a glass with you all from afar and wish you a great reunion.”
