December 16, 1942 – August 29, 1973

Chris was born in Jacksonville FL, a scion of an important landowning, cypress, and lumbering family.

He attended the Hill School before coming to Yale.  Chris was an English major, living in Morse.

Afflicted with an undefined illness, he dropped out before graduation.  Very little is known of his activities between then and his suicide in 1973.

He was buried with his parents, Wellington Wilson Cummer II (Yale '34 and '37 BFA) and Caroline Stevens Cummer, in the Evergreen Cemetery in Jacksonville FL. His brother is W. W. Cummer III (Yale '61).
